We're back with another "Where We Really Shop". It's been a while since we let you in on our own shopping habits, so if you're new to the blog or don't remember, go back and check out Parts 1 and 2 of the series.
This time around, we want let you in on our little secret about the lesser known side of a classic workwear brand for preppy and working women everywhere: Brooks Brothers. When looking for timeless, quality pieces, many people recommend the American brand, and we completely agree. But when we were young(er) working women, the prices were out of our league. Even now, we still think their prices can be a bit steep. Enter Red Fleece.
Rolled out in 2013 and previously known as the University Collection, Red Fleece touts its youthful touch, modern fits, and friendly prices. But it isn't just for the under-25 crowd. The line offers trendier cuts, colors, and details while staying true to the tenants of the Brooks Brothers brand. In terms of prices, expect to spend what you would at Banana Republic or J.Crew . But unlike those mass market retailers, you won't find regular discounts (no 40% off store-wide here). You also won't find the dip in quality that has been synonymous with so many traditional workwear brands as of late.
The biggest downside about Red Fleece is that the line is not available in most stores. You can sometimes find a return tucked into the racks of your local BB, but the collection is predominantly sold online or at flagship locations. This makes it a little difficult when you're very tactile (like Katie 1. SHE HAS TO TOUCH EVERYTHING!!!!!) or you want to be sure how something is going to fit. (Katie 2 has often found that Brooks Brothers is cut a bit small through the arms and chest, so she really likes to try stuff on.) But, you can absolutely return your Red Fleece purchases in store in case the piece doesn't work out.
Still not sold? We've rounded up some pieces that we're currently lusting over (and a few we just need to fill out our basics):

- We love dogs. You should too. Show your love with this sweater. Love dogs but want to be a little more subtle? (We can't imagine why. Subtly is overrated.)
- This is a great desk-to-dinner classic in just about any color. And the price is awesome, too.
- If you're starting your suiting collection, check out the whole line.
- This dress is a knockout. Wear it on its own or with a navy, grey, black, or white jacket for a little extra power.
- A classic shirt dress with a subtle polka dot makes it just a little more fun without losing the classic edge.
- This sweater is just pretty, for work or play.
- Brooks Brothers is known for their button-down shirts. Try this one with trimmed detail. Put it under a sweater, or wear on its own with a skirt to work or jeans on the weekend.
