When writing the Shoes Day Tuesday post on shoes every woman should own, we realized that we aren't as original as we thought when it comes to our shoe collections. Sure, we have go-to brands that show up in our closet often. But what really struck us here at Not a Corporate Fashun Blog is that we have the same style shoe in multiple colors. So here is our post on those shoe styles that we love so much that we bought them more than once:
- Kate Spade Licorice Pump: So Katie 2 loves this shoe. She has it in 2 colors now, and every time she's browsing she has to stop herself from buying 10 more. Every website or store you go to has these pumps in various colors and patterns- everything from patent leather (red or black or hot pink or black and white polka dot) to floral, to plain black leather, to black glitter, or suede (grey, red, green, nude, or look to the right for the navy pair that Katie 2 already has) to crackle or animal print or mini graphite dots OMG I JUST SAW THE MOST GORGEOUS NAVY BLUE VELVET PAIR ON SALE FOR LESS THAN $100.00. I am dying... Never mind. They don't have my size. My bank account is safe for now... This shoe is great because it's comfortable and well made. It's also easy to find them on sale. In her many searches, Katie has come across the Licorice Too pump as well. She has no idea what the difference is between the Licorice and Licorice Too, so here are some Licorice Too options you may enjoy: glittery or sequins... The possibilities are endless.
- Chanel Ballet Flats: If you couldn't tell from this post, Katie 1 spends money on shoes like Elizabeth spends money on make-up and skincare. Based upon this, it should come as no surprise that Katie 1 has multiple pairs of the Chanel ballet flats she featured in the post. In fact, she has 5 pairs, specifically: (1) black; (2) silver (being repaired so not pictured); (3) black & tan; (4) black & gold; and (5) yellow patent leather. Yes they are expensive (although a couple of the pairs she bought at reputable secondhand shops and have had repaired), but they are of superb quality, are super versatile, and are classic. If fact, the class flats like the ones pictured below have been around in roughly the same style since the 1950s and the classic cap toe design has been copied by literally every other designer ever. Plus, they're comfortable and can be dressed up or down. See? Purchases justified.
- L.K. Bennett Stila Pump: Both Katie 1 and Elizabeth have discussed the merits of this shoe to death in our previous post (just in case you didn't already have the link). Comfortable? Check! Classic? Check! Good quality? Check! Always available in a rainbow of colors? Check!
- Ferragamo Vara Bow Ballet Flats: Apparently Katie 1 has a thing for expensive ballet flats. See above for justification. The Vara is a great alternative (such a classic shoe!) if Chanel isn't in your budget because unlike the Chanel, Vara flats can often be purchased at a steep discount. In fact, Rue La La and Guilt Group often have a great selection of Ferragamo shoes. Same for Nordstrom Rack, Saks Off Fifth, Neiman's Last Call, the Bloomingdale's Outlet, and the Ferragmo Outlet. Also check out the clearance section at Neiman Marcus and Bloomingdales. In fact, Katie 1 is pretty sure that she bought both of her pairs on sale. Long story short? Want a classic ballet flat to fulfill your inner desire to be an effortlessly chic French girl? Don't want to fork over the $$ for Chanel? The Ferragamo Vara is for you!
Elizabeth wants you to know that she has multiples in her wardrobe, but not in her shoes (her make-up addiction is enough of a vice without adding a shoe obsession to the mix). Not to say that she doesn't have some similar looking styles (read: many pointy toe pumps). There are pairs that she purchased when they could no longer be saved (see upcoming post on shoe repairs!) and it is possible she will one day have multiple L.K. Bennett Stila pumps if her current nude shoes ever bite the dust. But at present she can leave the shoe buying addiction to Katie 1.
